My  Vision and Approach to 

Documentary Photography & Photojournalism 

In partnership with  ARAC International, our photojournalism is rooted in the principles of Positive Peace and aligned with the vision of the Sustainable Development Goals. We believe that visual storytelling is a powerful medium to inspire understanding, foster dialogue, and advocate for a more just and equitable world. Our approach is guided by these foundational pillars:

1. Promoting Positive Peace

Our work emphasizes the eight pillars of Positive Peace as outlined by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP):

• Well-functioning government

• Sound business environment

• Equitable distribution of resources

• Acceptance of the rights of others

• Good relations with neighbors

• Free flow of information

• High levels of human capital

• Low levels of corruption

By capturing and sharing images that reflect these values, we highlight stories of resilience, cultral diversity, social cohesion, collaboration, and progress. Whether it's a local initiative promoting education, a community rebuilding after conflict, or individuals advocating for justice, our photography amplifies narratives that contribute to lasting peace. In our communities I look highlight the events that embody the principles of Positive Peace through the human experience. 

3. Empowering Communities Through Visual Storytelling

Our approach prioritizes the voices of the communities we document. We aim to represent their stories with integrity, dignity, and respect, ensuring their perspectives are at the forefront. We view photojournalism as a tool to connect global audiences with the realities on the ground, fostering empathy and solidarity across borders.

4. Ethics and Responsibility

In line with our commitment to Positive Peace and SDG 16, we uphold the highest ethical standards in our work. This includes obtaining informed consent, ensuring cultural sensitivity, and avoiding sensationalism. Our goal is to create imagery that educates and empowers without exploiting or misrepresenting.

5. Driving Advocacy and Change

Our photojournalism serves as a bridge between awareness and action. By providing compelling visuals and narratives, we aim to support NGOs, policymakers, and advocates working to address systemic challenges and promote justice, peace, and strong institutions worldwide.

We see every image as an opportunity to contribute to a global culture of peace, justice, and sustainability. Together, through the power of storytelling, we can inspire meaningful change and build a brighter future for all.

Our Role as Ambassadors of Positive Peace in Photojournalism

Through our partnership ARAC International, our photojournalism embodies our commitment to being Ambassadors of Positive Peace through our active involvement with the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), the Positive Peace Academy, and our strategic partnerships with leading organizations in the photography, communications, and media sectors.

Ambassadors of Positive Peace

As graduates and advocates of the IEP’s Positive Peace Academy, we integrate its principles into our visual storytelling and advocacy work. The Academy’s framework empowers us to approach photography as more than just capturing moments—it’s a means to document progress, illuminate challenges, and inspire solutions grounded in the eight pillars of Positive Peace. This lens informs every assignment, from conflict zones to community-driven initiatives, ensuring our work aligns with IEP's vision of building resilient, peaceful societies.

Leveraging Key Partnerships

Our partnerships amplify our capacity to act as agents of Positive Peace:

• National Press Photographers Association (NPPA): We adhere to NPPA’s rigorous standards for ethical journalism, ensuring integrity in how we document and share stories.

• IOSI Global's: IOSI Media content contributor to IOSI's membership community on topics related to global security, media literacy, risk management, and artificial intelligence. Advocacy for SDG 16 and U.S. Global Fragility Act for peacebuilding and conflict prevention initiatives.

• USPA Strategic Communications (USPA StratCom): Through collaboration with USPA StratCom and Lladner Business Solutions, LLC, we combine our visual expertise with their strategic messaging capabilities, creating impactful content that supports advocacy for peace, justice, and strong institutions.

• StringerHub and Stringr.com: These platforms enable us to connect with a global network of media organizations, expanding the reach of our stories to audiences worldwide.

• Leica Fotografie Gallery (LFI): As contributors to Leica’s celebrated LFI community, we leverage this prestigious platform to showcase stories of resilience and transformation, aligning artistic excellence with Positive Peace objectives.

Through these partnerships, we act as bridge-builders between communities and audiences, fostering understanding and empathy. By capturing images that resonate deeply and authentically, we aim to:

• Highlight Positive Peace in Action: Showcase individuals and communities working toward equitable resource distribution, inclusive governance, and human rights advocacy.

• Drive Awareness and Advocacy: Provide powerful visuals to support campaigns addressing SDG 16 and other Sustainable Development Goals.

• Build Collaborative Momentum: Inspire collective action by illustrating the tangible benefits of peacebuilding and institutional accountability.
